About Us

Welcome to Victoria Yum Bakery!

Founded almost 16 years ago by our Head Baker and Business Owner, Kiersten George, Victoria Yum started in the heart of Hackney, East London. What began as a humble stall at vibrant street food markets quickly grew into a beloved bakery, with our delicious bakes finding their way to the counters of independent coffee shops across London. Over the years, we’ve built a reputation that’s all about quality, taste, and authenticity—one bake at a time.

Our commitment to consistently creating mouthwatering treats caught the eye of some of London’s most prestigious food halls. We’re incredibly proud to have our products stocked in iconic locations like Harrods, Selfridges, and Fortnum & Mason—a testament to the love and passion that goes into everything we bake.

In 2020, we made an exciting move to Colchester, Essex, settling into a stunning Grade 1 listed property. This new chapter has brought even more deliciousness to our lineup, which now includes fresh, homemade breads, soft buns, buttery pastries, and, of course, our much-loved doughnuts, which are a must-try every weekend.

At Victoria Yum, we’re all about producing high-quality, hand-crafted bakes using the finest ingredients. Everything is made on-site, by hand, in small batches daily, ensuring that every bite is as fresh and tasty as the last.

Looking Ahead to 2025
At the end of January 2025, after 4.5 incredible years in our Colchester location, we made the very difficult (and emotional) decision to close the store. This wasn’t an easy choice, and it’s something we’ve worked hard to avoid. We’re so deeply grateful for the unwavering support and loyalty you’ve shown us, and while we’re leaving this particular space behind, it won’t stop us from baking. We’re committed to continuing to bring our treats to you, but we’ll be rethinking how we do that. The bakery is evolving, just as we always have—and adapting is part of what makes us who we are. The bakes will live on, and we’ll find new ways to reach you with the same love and care that’s always gone into our products.

What’s Next
While we remain active online and on our social media, we’re currently in the process of relocating and realigning our operations. As we focus on this transition, we’ll be reducing our offering on the website for the time being. But don’t worry—this is just a temporary shift! We’ll be back with our full range of bakes, including all the breads, pastries, buns, and doughnuts you know and love, as soon as we’ve got our buns in line.
